mjam Linzathlon 2022: Hardcore but awesome!
Sliding, running, jumping, climbing: Multitasking was required again at the mjam Linzathlon. The 25 merciless obstacles demanded everything from the 1 participants. They were rewarded with a sensational after-run party.
On May 21st it was time to grit your teeth again, demonstrate team spirit, perseverance and nerves of steel and not forget one thing: having fun. Exactly at 14 p.m Deputy Mayor Karin Hörzing and mjam CEO Chloé Kayser the starting signal for the 3rd edition of the Linzathlon. The course was tough: In addition to the Schlossberg, obstacles such as "mjam Pipe", "Mission Magna", "Under Armour Bagjump" and "Wall 4 Panier #believeinme" had to be overcome. The participants were also "electrified" on the main square at the obstacle "BMW Höglinger Denzel Adrenalinberg." The 10-kilometer-long running route led through the historic city center, past the most beautiful sights in Linz. However, there wasn't much time for sightseeing - after all, it was a city to conquer.
Cheered on by thousands of spectators along the route, the participants were motivated not to give up in the fight against their city. Only those who were tough enough against themselves could hold their own against Linz. Lucas Kempe mastered this challenge the fastest: With a sensational time of 45:04 minutes, 02:09 minutes separated him from his pursuer, Michael Sauer. Hannes Stummer secured third place. In the women won Veronica Windisch: She crossed the finish line after 56:46 minutes, closely followed by Nicole Biolik (2nd place) as well as Christina Macher and Natalie Hofmann (3rd place jointly). Lucas Kempe competed in the ULTRA category and ran the mjam Linzathlon three times: He completed this athletic test in around 2,5 hours.
Many prominent representatives from politics, business and sport did not miss this unique sports spectacle. Among them Vice Mayor and Sports Councilor Karin Hoerzing, mjam CEO Chloe Kayser, Moritz Murauer (BMM Sports Managing Director and Under Armor representative Austria), UNI Group Managing Director Andrew Haider, Olympic snowboard champion Benjamin Carl and Brau Union sales director Josef Paukenhaider.
This year, the new namesake mjam was there for the first time: "Our goal is to be with our customers as quickly as possible. We accept every challenge - including the Linzathlon!" (mjam CEO Chloé Kayser)
After the run, we went straight to the after-run party powered by Jägermeister, where we celebrated until late in the evening: There was a party atmosphere in the event arena, because the sound of DJ MÄXX really heated up the audience.
