The beat the city competitions are urban obstacle courses for men and women who are looking for a special sporting challenge. The runs take place directly in the center of Linz, Innsbruck and Graz. Thanks to the at least 20 natural and artificial obstacles on the at least 10 km long routes through the city center, variety is guaranteed. Sports, fun and the city - precisely these factors make the beat the city competitions a tough challenge. It's not just endurance that counts here, but also strength, skill, mobility and cleverness.
Of course, there are also separate competitions for the youngest among you. For kids and young people between the ages of 8 and 15 there are Junior Athlons in each city. The juniors have to overcome about 2 obstacles over a distance of about 10 km.
Together, the city is conquerable for everyone.
The 5+ km distances are routes in Linz, Innsbruck and Graz that start and finish together with the 10+ km route. The distances vary from city to city between five and six kilometers. There are at least 10 obstacles to overcome here. Due to the shortened distance, the 5+ km can be managed by everyone.
You can find more information about the new 5+ km distance here .
Unfortunately, it is no longer possible to register for the other distance once you have registered. We ask for your understanding.
The Junior Athlon competitions are obstacle courses for children and young people between the ages of 8 and 15, who compete against each other in three age groups (8-10 years, 11-13 years, 14-15 years). The starts are every 4 minutes. The route is about 2 km long and at least 10 obstacles have to be overcome as quickly as possible.
With the help of friends or siblings, the junior competition is manageable for all kids. :)
All information about the current entry fee can be found on the "Run Info" page under the respective competition.
You can register on our site by clicking on the respective Athlon and then under the point Log in.
From there you get to the MaxFun website, which is responsible for the registration system. You can use this link to register for the main competitions as well as for the junior competitions.
Please note! If you are prevented, someone else can run instead of you. The re-registration takes place directly on site at the start number issue of the respective Athlon. The replacement person simply comes to us with your booking confirmation and we register them instead of you. Unfortunately, we have to charge a fee of €10 for the additional work. We have to charge a fee of €5 for changing registrations in the junior competitions.

As with all sporting events, the right outfit is also very important for the beat the city series. That's why we've put together a few guidelines and tips for you:
- Shoes: Spikes and shoes with Dobbs are prohibited. We recommend running shoes with a good profile.
- Dress: Of course we hope for nice weather and therefore for shorts and t-shirts. However, knee pads or knee-length trousers can prevent abrasions.
- gloves: We recommend that you at least wear cycling gloves so that you can overcome certain obstacles more easily and without damage.
We recommend arriving by public transport.
Your time is determined by a chip placed on the Hand is to be fixed, measured.
Return the running chip to the event arena after the run.
You can find the results on our website in the menu item "Results", which will be put online during the event week.
Despite the great sporting challenge, the beat the city competitions are primarily about having fun and being together. It is a matter of honor that every "Athlon athlete" makes every effort to overcome the obstacles regularly.
In order to ensure more fairness on the podium, there are stricter rules for all runners from the first starting block. All information about the elite starting block can be found here here .
We ask that you always behave as real sportsmen and women. Should you see that someone needs your help at the obstacles or elsewhere, please help.
