Rain, mud and goosebumps – the Merkur Viennathlon 2025 was wild!

Vienna, you delivered! Over 1.100 participants showed their skills on the Danube Island on July 26, 2025 – despite rain, slippery ground, and plenty of mud. The second Merkur Viennathlon was not only the crowning conclusion of the 2025 "beat the city" series, but also an unforgettable adventure for everyone who took part.

The conditions? Wet. The atmosphere? Better than ever! From the first starts in the morning to the finish lines in the evening, there was fighting, laughter, and celebration. Over two distances—5 and 10 kilometers—the participants worked their way through up to 20 obstacles. Classics like Monkeyland and Bagjump have demanded as well as new highlights – especially the “Stairway to Heaven".

The rain? Just an extra obstacle.

What would have put many off actually brought the runners together even more. The energy along the course, the mutual support, and the power at the finish line demonstrated that the Merkur Viennathlon is more than just a race. It's a statement – against excuses, against comfort zones, for solidarity and redefining personal boundaries.
